A schematic-only design for a fully parallel FPGA snake game

This is a demo of my final lab project for ECE 102 at CSU. It is a fully parallel implementation of the game “SNAKE” on the DE2 FPGA board. There are 256 little state machines all running at the same time to control this game. Each LED of the display is backed by it’s own state machine that communicates with its immediate neighbors. Global knowledge of state is not required for the game “SNAKE”, this is why it was chosen.
VHDL would probably have been faster, but the schematic-only approach was way more fun.Download a PDF of My Report With Schematics
